Code Upgrade – Deploy Endur Binaries

Using the Code Upgrade function, we now need to deploy the binaries for Endur and its sub-components to the Servers. This is needed before we can install Spread or any of the Windows services.

This will take a couple of hours. Go and have lunch!

Note – one of the reasons it takes longer than normal is because the process will try to stop and restart all of the services mapped to the Environment. Of course, these don’t exist yet – but the process tries 5 times to stop each service in case there are errors. This is something that we need to look at, but it’s a low priority right now. It’s only the first time that takes a long time, once the services are installed it’s quick – and we actually want it to retry in the event of error.
