NOTE THE EMDASH CONSOLE APPLICATION HAS BEEN DEPRECATED DUE TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF IN-BUILD SCHEDULING FUNCTIONS.
In addition to the emdash™ Self-Service web-based interface, there is also a 'Console' application.
This is used to kick off emdash™ workflows from a command prompt. This also means that these emdash™ workflows can be scheduled with a batch scheduling tool, or Windows Task Manager.
The console app is found on your emdash™ server under c:\emdash\console.app
Usage parameters can be displayed by opening a command prompt as follows
Console App Functions and Parameters
The workflows that are included in the console app are:
- Usercount - runs a process to loop through all Citrix Servers looking for users that are running a master.exe session. Records the details in an emdash data table 'ConcurrentUser' which can then be queried to see how many concurrent Endur/Findur user sessions are open at any period of time.
- emdash.console.exe /inputfunction:usercount
- Housekeeping - Runs a process to purge the Fileshare of old archived 'resources' folders.
- emdash.console.exe /inputfunction:housekeeping
- Environment Refresh (the default). Details below...
The following parameters are to be passed to the console app for an Environment Refresh
/sourceenv:<Environment Name>
- The environment that you want to refresh from. Note that the last available backup file for that environment's database will be used in the refresh.
/targetenv:<Environment Name>
- The environment that you want to refresh.
/backupfirst:<true or false>
- Set to 'true' if you want a backup of the target environment taken before it is overwritten.
/inputfunction:makelikesource
- Optional parameter. If you don't want a 'Make Like Source' environment refresh (one that redeploys all of the code binaries that are assigned to the Source environment, to the Target environment) then omit the parameter altogether.
